Design inspiration

In 2025, Global Doula Project partnered with us to design a website that reflects the heart of their mission: providing compassionate, accessible doula support to families navigating birth and loss.

The goal: to create a digital space that felt deeply personal—one that honored the emotions, memories, and transformations that come with these life moments.

We drew inspiration from the textures of handwritten letters, journals, and scrapbooks—objects that hold stories, memories, and love. Aged paper, nostalgic photography, and the soft edges of timeworn keepsakes helped shape the visual language. Nature also played a key role: budding flowers and dried leaves symbolizing both beginnings and endings, as well as natural patterns, warm light, and honest materials that bring a sense of grounding and connection.

Website design

Every design choice was made to create a website that feels personal, inviting, and reflective of life’s most tender moments.

The typography mirrors the personal and thoughtful essence of the brand. A typewriter font and a handmade serif provide structure, while an expressive handwritten accent font, full of organic ligatures, brings warmth and individuality—just like the unique journeys Global Doula Project supports.

A grounding palette of browns, creams, soft greens, and blues—colors pulled from nature—adds a sense of peace and reassurance. We wove in subtle paper textures throughout the backgrounds, reinforcing the scrapbook-inspired aesthetic. Illustrations, kept minimal yet expressive, use simple lines and soft textures to evoke human connection and storytelling.

The result is a website that feels intimate and meaningful—a digital reflection of the care, empathy, and presence Global Doula Project offers to every family they serve.

WHAT THEY SAID

“It was an honor and a pleasure to work with Sereth Design in the creation of a new website for our nonprofit organization.

Esther and her team poured their creative hearts into making our website aesthetically pleasing, organized, and easy to navigate. Their guidance with messaging was also life-changing for our organization, because they helped us refine our mission statement and other messaging so that every word is clear and impactful. The assets that Esther sent over include hand drawn illustrations, beautiful fonts that I never would have been able to find myself, background images, a brand and copy guide so that anyone who takes over content creation knows exactly what to do, and in depth videos explaining how to take care and modify each section of our website. We will definitely keep working with Sereth Design in the future any time we need support with website development, impact reports, or refining our brand image so that it matches our mission. Thank you so much Esther and Olivia not only for your hard work and sharing your expertise, but for also truly caring about our mission. The board members join me in thanking you all from the bottom of our hearts!”
