Overview

Over the past four years, Sereth has partnered closely with Kutoa Project to shape a brand that honors their heart-led mission and growing impact.

Brand identity

We began with a full rebrand, drawing from African mud cloth and Kente cloth as our inspiration—both rich with traditional patterns and layered cultural meaning.

Through a collaborative, research-driven process, we developed a symbol unique to Kutoa by assigning values to select motifs that aligned with the organization’s core principles. The resulting logo mark is both expressive and grounded, a visual representation of healing, faith, and cultural pride woven into one cohesive identity.

That symbol became the anchor of a full brand system designed to feel warm, hopeful, and deeply human. From that foundation, we also supported Kutoa’s storytelling through photography—remotely art directing a shoot in Nairobi to capture authentic, emotional, documentary-style images. Today, Sereth’s founder, Esther, serves as North American Board President of their board of directors.

Website & digital

Kutoa’s digital presence needed to match the depth and energy of their work.

We designed a digital home for Kutoa Project that could serve their two very different—but equally important—audiences: Kenyan clients seeking counseling and trauma-informed education, and international donors looking to support the work. Our role was to bridge those needs into one seamless user experience. We focused on making the booking process intuitive and accessible for local users while also building space for donor storytelling, ministry updates, and clear calls to action for giving and getting involved.

But the digital experience didn’t stop at the website. We extended the brand across social media with a cohesive set of post templates and story layouts to help the Kutoa team share updates, highlight impact, and connect with their audience consistently. We also designed digital donor handouts, newsletters, and training materials—bringing every touchpoint into alignment. As our relationship continues, we’re proud to support Kutoa’s evolving presence online and off.

“Sereth’s expertise helped us redefine and reimagine the story we’ve been a part of building for so long in the most thoughtful and intentional way.
